Bumpers on cars today are not made of cheap metal, they are made of metal at all, they are plastic. If you want a car with "real" heavy gauge metal, then buy an older car. Any car made before 1987 should have the kind of bumpers you like. Metal bumpers are heavy and lower fuel mileage, and the plastic bumpers crumple and prevent damage to the people inside the car.
