Good questions.
I'm strongly in favor of the Second Amendment. Everyone -- every patriot that is -- should own an AR15, half a dozen magazines, and 2000 rounds of ammunition. And body armor. I've been kicked off several liberal-controlled forums just for saying this. And if you can afford it, get another one, or two. If you can't afford even one, get anything you can. A single-shot bolt-action .22 is infinitely better than nothing. But then you must organize with others. Rambo is Hollywood fantasy. Wars are won by organizations.
But ... in 1780, owning a musket put you on a par with a professional soldier. Today, an AR15
doesn't put you on a par with an A10, a crewed mortar, a Bradley. We shouldn't kid ourselves about that. So every patriot who has not done his military service yet, and who is under 36, should enlist in the National Guard. If the SHTF in America at some time in the future, the struggle must not be WITH the military, but FOR the military. Which is why the rest of us, who can, should be involved in any organization that puts us in touch with the rank and file of the military, such as the USO.
As for homosexual marriage. I was raised in Texas in the 1940s/50s ... so I'm what the Russians call "A man of the old formation." However, I'm not going to let my gut reactions dictate my political strategy. And I know enough about the history of Western civilization to know that a great warrior like Alexander the Great had sexual tastes that we wouldn't approve of, although were you to appear in front of him, it would be best to keep your reactions to yourself.
We had a pretty good compromise worked out for a while, starting in the late 70s: what you got up to, and with whom, in the privacy of your own bedroom, was none of my business and certainly not the government's business.
But, I can understand the problems that a gay couple might have legally. So, I'm for 'civil partnerships' for everyone who wants to live with someone else for the rest of their lives and share income, have next-of-kin privileges, etc, -- i.e. legal contracts -- and I'm for marriage ceremonies being a private affair of you and your church, or your secular humanist celebrant, or mosque or temple or whatever.
The real issue is the family and children. We're dying out -- the birth rate for advanced peoples is below replacement level in every country. That's the big problem, and we need to talk about what to do about it. In Somalia, the average woman has about six children. The average European (indigenous European) has about 1.5, well below the replacement level of 2.1 The Swedes have decided to solve their problem by importing Somalis, which is I suppose what the New World Order elite want. They call them 'new Swedes'. I say they're committing national suicide. But that's
another discussion.
By the way, we're making steady progress in genetics, and in understanding how the brain works. If we can just avoid having a big stupid war, in few decades, all our kids will have stellar IQs, no genetic disorders, and their brains will match their bodies in terms of whom they want to have sex with. In the meantime, we can be humanitarian towards
the folks where that has not happened. [One of the best conservative thinkers around is Deirdre McCloskey, who has written a series of books that are the best defense of capitalism you'll every read, in my humble opinion. Look up
