Let's think critically about why Trump wants Greenland. 

The real reason: It's not about metals. Only Musk wants those. Taking their metals would do nothing. We would still need China's refineries. Greenland sits as the gatekeeper between North America and Europe. It is the route that allows access to Greenland–Iceland–UK, which is also the main route Russian submarines must pass to reach the Atlantic.  Russia has been aggressively rebuilding Arctic bases, radar, and submarine routes. That is what is relatively new. In the past, we have expressed interest in Greenland, but for completely different reasons. Though it is nothing new that Russia has been building subs in that region, they have 'aggressively' increased their production since 2014. So, Russia is up to something. This was Russia's response to the NATO expansion in 2014 and Crimea. Since then, like almost immediately after, Russia began to reopen 50 Arctic bases in the region. 

I know I said that I was against this, but that was before I knew what Russia was doing. I researched this more last night, thanks to @RebelGator  . Sorry I misjudged you, my friend. You were right. I was wrong. I hope BV's next **** comes out square.
