Trump was referring to cases such as the "crazy" person he mentioned, not a pissed off wife, girlfriend, some schmuk neighbor that hates you because you go to church who makes a call to the police for the **** of it and says you're a dangerous guy with a gun.
We have that **** in our fascist state of WA. One call, no matter the evidence, no matter that the call can be anonymous, and your guns are removed until authorities clear you or ban you from owning weapons.
