I personally don't care if it's classified as an assault rifle or not. It has many purposes which I've listed,self defense just being one aspect.
If assholes own AR 15s ,AR 10s or any other model then count me in. I'll be an asshole many times over.
No it's not the same as a mini 14. But then again a Ruger 10/22 isn't either nor is a Remington 1100. Except they're all semi automatic guns. You want all semi auto firearms banned or just the scary looking ones?
As for sales numbers of course the AR 15 wins. It's lighter,easier to work on and parts are basically the same across all manufacturers and easy to obtain. It's why I have a few of them.
You can kick and scream all you want about "assaukt rifles". It's a right,enshrined in the constitution under the 1st amendment. I'll own ARs because it's also a right enshrined in the constitution under the 2nd amendment.

It surely is about "looks"....but not my fear of them. That is just the last refuge of those whose reasons are entirely emotional, or psychosexual.
