Classical liberals, i.e. most conservatives fit the description, but Classical Liberalism is almost the opposite of today's Liberalism.
Actual liberals are rather leftist, and they are highly intolerant.
I have a politically demented leftist friend who foolishly tries to force his opinions about Trump on me, simply on his opinion and severely limited knowledge.
He stupid claims that I'm "always Trump" because I reject the groundless accusations he makes against Trump.
Except the guy, in his '50's, has never in his life read conservative opinion or books. His ignorance is astounding.
I ask him why I should give up not only my own knowledge and judgment but that of my trust sources simply on his word.
To which he has no answer, so he avoids the question and goes on another raving rant.
It's truly scary to watch.
The British are adept at this.
