And I know that I have always understood how the US senate works. I have NEVER thought that fifty votes were all that were needed to pass a bill in the senate when all senators are present and voting. NEVER. YOU DID. YOU SAID THAT... and DOUBLED DOWN ON IT. When all senators are present and voting, fifty votes will NEVER advance a bill. The vote will either be 51-49 of 51-50. FIFTY IS NEVER ENOUGH. You were wrong then, and you remain wrong today.
