You cede a portion of your liberty to the Legislature. You authorize them to act on your behalf. That's not socialism, that is representative democracy. And if you are in the minority on any given issue, be it whether or not to form a fire department or whether or not to create and fund a program called Social Security, or Obamacare, it's all still representative democracy at work. You're on the losing side? Tough ****. I PLAINLY SAID that in order to do ANYTHING by government, you determined to cede a PORTION of your liberty and the examples are- you give up a portion of your right to protect yourself by allowing GOVERNMENT to form police and fire departments!! PERIOD!! THAT is how the PRINCIPLES OF LIBERTY ARE EXERCISED IN THIS NATION.
