Our elected representative are democratically chosen. We are therefore, a democracy (small "d"). We all don't vote on every bill in every local, state, and federal legislative body, therefore we are a representative democracy (again, small "d"). I'll go with one of those that happened to BE THERE AND PART OF THE FORMATION of this nations Constitution. NO WHERE did anyone say "Democracy". Not even in the Constitution is that word uttered. REPUBLICAN IS!!
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.
