And Babbit never got the chance to walk around the Capitol peacefully as hundreds of others did. Had she entered through one of the doors held open by the Capitol police for the demonstrators to enter through, she'd be alive today. But a warning shot fired above the crowd would have accomplished the same thing to stop the rioters and would have been a far better choice than murdering a military veteran and mother.
