LVT isn’t a panacea, but it made Hong Kong into an economic powerhouse, one of the central market hubs of the planet. Everybody works but the vacant lot. When oligarchs own all the land AND they own the politicians, they can squat on 90% of gods green earth, pay little to no taxes on it, and nobody else gets to use that land for small business, production, homesteading etc..
Land should not be hoarded. THAT is what LVT seeks to remedy, freeing up the land for young hungry entrepreneurs to come and use it prosperously
