I agree with the logic AND the premise.
Drifters have less stake - make 'em put down roots before they get a say. They ain't been around long enough to understand the issues.
And I say that as a drifter. In the past decade, I've hung my hat in 6 states, and worked in another 16 weeks on and 2 off for a couple of years.
I wouldn't bellyache if there was a hot minute between establishing residency and being called for jury duty or being allowed to vote on local and state issues.
I have also lived in several states, and I still like this idea.
this would persuade people to stay in their own state for better or worse, vs. **** up one region after another to like some computer virus running amok.
People who devote their life to one state will make it better. Drifters have no reason to improve any area. This is why Gypsies had to be tightly controlled by the Nazis, along with Jews
