From the perspective of history and sociology, the widespread acceptance of transgenderism makes sense.

It is merely the rise of one end of a seesaw.. the end that had been suppressed by decades of Christian patriarchy.

almost the entire 20th century, pagans had been suppressed, often violently, by monotheists.  Christian values were conservative, piety, chastity, respect, law and order - the essence of masculine archetype, Christian theocracy is a patriarchy.

angst filled teens seethed under the stifling blanket of patriarchy for many decades, resentful.  Each generation since the 1960s has leaned further away from the values of the father, toward the more feminine traits: passion, empathy, wild chaos and emotional intensity vs logic.

Finally, this trend exploded into a mass movement that overcompensated, like a person who had been on a strict diet for a month and suddenly goes on a reckless eating binge

Tolerance of sexual oddity morphed into worship of freaks.  The overreaction of wild pagan values against conservative Christian values, after so long pent up, went overboard to the point that it endagers children, much like a hysterical female, unhinged by the intensity of her need to emote, can become a danger to her own children
