.org was blacklisted by Google Adsense for posts that violated Google terms. It would be a long uphill battle to get it reinstated. .ORG owns no software or intellectual property. The value is in the search ranking. The domain name is excellent but misleading because most new visitors will be liberals who are unlikely become long term participants.
You're level headed and capable of making a sensible decision. Treat my advice as just one liberals opinion.
