Read the Constitution! The HOUSE does the investigation and the Senate takes the evidence they have been presented with and try the case! There is NO obligation for the Senate to ALSO do the job of the House! If THEY wanted more witnesses, THEY COULD HAVE CALLED THEM! A trial with no witnesses, no documents, and no evidence from the House hearings is not a trial.
