Nobody's saying it's all over. We're saying that you simply can't compare the kind of care the infected are getting in China compared to what they would receive here. You're looking at stats from China and Iran, for example, and believing it's going to be just as bad here. Sorry, I don't believe that. And it's a debate I'll be happy to have in the months to come, and I'll admit it if I turn out to be wrong.
The government health care experts are saying that it is inevitable that there will be more cases, which is why Trump has now muzzled them.
And what does that mean? Does "more" mean double the handful of the few dozen people here that now have it and are being treated, or does it mean they expect thousands more? Trump isn't saying anything different. He says it could be more than we expect or it can be less than we expect. What's so wrong with that?
I didn't hear any media outlets calling him racist and stupid for doing that.
Trump himself has stated that. I'll try to find where that came from.
You probably heard that on FOX News TRUMP TV or some other right wingnut source.
FYI the CDC was against bringing those 14 infected people back to the U.S. but the State Dept. overruled them.
Those people sat on buses with people who were not infected and flew on the same plane with them.
Sorry, but I don't feel very assured by the fact that Trump has gutted the healthcare infrastructure that was set up to deal with pandemics like this, and has appointed Pence to head up the coronavirus task force, who in turn named Larry Kudlow and Steve Mnuchin to the task force.
What medical background do any of them have?
Nothing has been "gutted". There is no evidence that we can't handle whatever epidemic happens.
And Pence and the HHS Sectetary can't even seem to agree on which one of them is in charge.
The HHS Secretary BTW was a lobbyist for the pharmaceutical industry and also has no medical background.
I've got full confidence in their abilities to handle it. Too many liberals are hoping for a major disaster just to have another reason to try to destroy Trump. Nothing changes.
