It's simply a PERFECTLY LEGAL deduction of the costs of research and development that EVERY energy company MUST receive as a cost of doing business. I don't consider it a "subsidy" when my tax deductions include the cost of searching for new customers or suppliers to grow my business, so why is it unfair to give oil companies the same ability?
