Unlike you, I've never relied on an "influencer" to form an opinion on anything.
And I've had numerous Amex accounts before I cancelled them after they refused to honor my dispute with a restaurant over a $180 bill discrepancy after I spent thousands every month with them for over 10 years on my platinum Amex card. Visa was more than happy to take that much business away from them and I've never had the same problems as I did with Amex. And I still receive regular requests from Amex to return to them after dumping them over 20 years ago.
What is it that makes you think Amex is so indispensable that you can't live without them?
