An incursion is a sudden, often hostile, entry into a place (an invasion or intrusion), whereas an excursion is a short, leisurely journey or trip. In education, an incursion brings external activities into the school, while an excursion involves leaving school grounds.
Trump's response was clearly tongue-in-cheek. He equated this attack on Iran as a leisurely trip because we so overmatched the Iranian defenses, like shooting fish in a barrel. Our air force and navy had complete freedom to roam the sky and the sea and seek out remaining targets with nothing to worry about, and you can't stand the fact that Trump has won such a devastating victory.
