Money spent on a constitutional ballot initiative would be considered lobbying, and money spent on a candidate is political, the experts said.
Records indicate much of the $10 million went to both.
After the DeSantis administration steered the money to the Hope Florida Foundation, the charity wired $5 million to Secure Florida’s Future, run by the Florida Chamber of Commerce. It wired another $5 million to Save Our Society From Drugs, a St. Petersburg organization associated with Drug Free America.
The two nonprofits then sent $8.5 million to Keep Florida Clean, the political committee intent on defeating the recreational marijuana amendment. Attorney General James Uthmeier controlled Keep Florida Clean during the 2024 election to assist the DeSantis administration’s effort to defeat the recreational marijuana amendment. At the time, Uthmeier was Gov. Ron DeSantis’ chief of staff.

Meanwhile, Trump HAS VASTLY IMPROVED Obamacare already by rescinding the illegal mandate that Obama forced on them, and helped the high cost of healthcare immeasurably by gaining huge reductions in the cost of prescription medications, which has saved me personally around $400 a month. Trump also made the Healthcare Savings Account much better by killing much of it's onerous regulations, and floated the idea of giving newborn American citizens a $1,000 savings account at birth which would grow to be a huge nest egg for these children when they retire. And of course, every Democrat voted AGAINST those solutions, because they fear the coming total repeal of Obamacare as it continues to fail.
So suck it up, liberal! You GOT the healthcare insurance that you Democrats demanded! So either enjoy or shut the **** up about it or admit it was a massive failure and repeal it instead of continuing to lie about it as Obama did in order to pass it!
