Agreed! I despise the idea of providing help to people who make stupid decisions in their lives! Why do the rest of the country have to pay for the ignorance of others? Who ever told potential college students that they can make a great career for themselves with a degree in basket weaving, gender studies, or Russian poetry? Stupid kids will take courses they think are easy to pass in order to get a degree and that is not automatically the responsibility of the college or university and it's certainly not the responsibility of the rest of the country to stop them from doing that. If they received encouragement to take worthless courses by either a guidance counselor or other professionals, then those are the people who need to be fired for false advertising. Beyond that, there is no reason in the world to allow them to get off the hook by covering for their own stupidity, nor is it legal for the President to unilaterally offer it to them. The US treasury IS NOT the Biden piggy bank to use any way he sees fit! Congress AND CONGRESS ALONE has the power of the purse according to the US Constitution and THEY should be outraged now at seeing a demented boob like him usurp THEIR authority!
The solution? LET THE BUYER BEWARE! No one ever said that hard lessons come cheaply. PAY YOUR OWN DAMN LOAN!
And the courts will ultimately agree with me!
