We are not discussing the need for roads and bridges. Besides, it was a republican President (Ike) that established the interstate highway system in 1956.
Ike also warned about the dangers of a military industrial complex.
What we now have is a "central government" controlled not only by a military industrial complex, but also a medical industrial complex.
