The only reason the vietnam war ended was that american soldiers were fragging their lieutenants faster than west point could mint replacements. That's it. The will of the people had nothing to do with it. The unpopularity of the war had nothing to do with it. The country's inability to replace lieutenants is what did the trick. Almost 20% of casualties were commissioned officers.
THEY REALIZED THEY WERE HEADED FOR THE MEAT GRINDER, BUT TRAINED FOR ZELENSKYS PR STUNT, AND PROBABLY MADE A PLANNED AWOL EXIT TAKING THE CHANCE OF EXECUTION BY ZELENSKY IF CAUGHT.
