No. They were a Turkic people and at one point had no religion. They were identity thieves, crime thugs, rapists and murderers. The Czar of Russia told them they must choose a religion and follow its principles and become law abiding citizens. They chose Judaism. Abiding the law was another story. They continued their ways and were forced to leave the Country.
