My thoughts exactly.
So few people understand the value of a blooded army. It isn't just the soldiery. It's the mechanics, logistics, economics, and manufacturing. It's the tooling up, the sussing out, and the RE-tooling up. It's the lessons learned, the intel gathered, the recons performed, the weaknesses exposed, the strengths discovered and accounted for. It's the corrected failures of logistics, of resource development and allocation.
A blooded army is the gold standard to enter into war with - and having your enemy foolishly deliver a proxy for you to sharpen your steel against is a gift.
I have said it before, and I will say it again: The ukraine kerfuffle is a GIFT from the decaying west to the ascending mother-land. NATO was not content merely to give Putin the opportunity to empty his worst prisons, freeing up monies and men. They also helped him to remove the Wagner thorn, which had served its purpose and had become a problem.
The NATO countries blooded Putin's army while leaving their own armies on the shelf. They helped his entire military come to know itself as it has not known itself in years. They gave him the opportunity to test and extend the range of his weaponry. When his humming munitions factories need to increase production, adding lines to highly functional units is an order of magnitude simpler than starting from scratch - ditto the internal supply lines and logistics for providing those factories with each and every component required to restock the ammunition and armaments of his fielded armies.
There is many a slip twixt cup and lip - and Russia has the advantage of having worked through all of those slips and gotten the cup firmly to the lip. Likewise, adding men to functioning units is a much easier challenge than is fielding entire units of greenhorns. All of those slips twixt cup and lip SUCK to experience on game day. That is why any production benefits from a dress rehearsal - and that is the gift that NATO has given the Iron Man of Russia.
And they THOUGHT they were **** in his gravy bowl.
