It doesn't much matter how much money we spend, because the WAY the money will be spent is determined by supply side, not demand side.
The MIC occupies congress and the pentagon. And the MIC wants to make and sell what profits IT the most, not what profits the COUNTRY.
And the same is true in every NATO nation.
Russia and China OWN their armaments industries, and they are instructed by their nations' war cabinets - not by a wholly owned subsidiary called the pentagon - what to produce.
As a result, their war making money is wisely and usefully spent. Less buys more. Our is unwisely and foolishly spent. Doubling or tripling it will double or triple the MIC's profits, but it will not change our readiness.
The enemy is not at the gate. The enemy is within. And he wears a tiny hat, and he has already feathered another nest against the day that this one goes to **** from his parasitism.
