One of those journalists is Glenn Greenwald, who wrote a piece on how the FBI operated, based in part on reporting from Revolver News, regarding both January 6 and the supposed kidnapping plot last year of Michigan tyrant, or who others may call governor, Gretchen Whitmer.
“It seems extremely likely that the FBI had numerous ways to know of any organized plots regarding the January 6 riot (just as the U.S. intelligence community, by its admission, had ample advanced clues of the 9/11 attack but, according to their excuse, tragically failed to ‘connect the dots),” Greenwald wrote. “There is no doubt that the FBI has infiltrated at least some if not all of these groups — which it has been warning for years pose a grave national security threat — with informants and undercover spies. It is known that Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio has served as an FBI informant in the past, and the disrupted 2020 plot by Three Percenters members to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) was shaped and driven by what The Wall Street Journal reported were the FBI’s ‘undercover agents and confidential informants.”
As the media drives the narrative that we need to fear “domestic terrorists,” the political right is waking up to the abuses of the FBI and other federal law enforcement agencies that they’ve long cheered on. The left, which has long hated such agencies, is now the side cheering them on.
However, this left-right bickering seems grounded in the petty politics of the day and based on one’s either fealty for or hatred of Donald Trump. Those grounded in principles, though, should understand that the FBI and every other federal law enforcement agency pose a threat to every one of our liberties and are unconstitutional.
None of this is a new phenomenon for the FBI et al., these illegal and shameful tactics are the general rule for these federal law enforcement agencies.
These agencies have a long history of lying and setting up boogeymen to fear, and they use that fear to expand their power and create security theater. In 2011, Judge Andrew Napolitano wrote about the FBI bragging about foiling 17 terror plots since 9/11.
“What it will not tell you is that there have been twenty foiled plots, and of them, three were interrupted by members of the public. They created the seventeen that were interrupted by the feds. They all have a common and reprehensible thread. They were planned, plotted, controlled, and carried out by the federal government itself,” Napolitano wrote.
