My Great Grandfather joined the 1st Texas Heavy Artillery Unit, Comapny K of the Texas Confederacy in 1861. He as 12 (born in 1849). My Great Great Grandfather fought in the War of 1812, He was 18. My Great x6 Grandfather came to this country in 1625 from England. Yes, they were farmers and slave holders in what later became Virginia.
