It's not fair.
IMO, what I think is unfair is the payroll tax (which you are including in your tax rate on the working class) of which 7.65% comes out of employees wages and ALL 15.3% is paid by the self employed. While high income earners get to stop paying into the system after a certain amount of income. I know I paid the full amount for 25 **** years!!! What would be fair, IMO, would be to subject ALL income, including unearned incomes of the wealthy, to the FICA taxes and then means test after a maximum set amount of benefits and make Congress REALLY set that money aside and keep their goddamn overspending hands off it!!!
