Though highly contagious the now predominant Omicron variant has a fatality rate closer to seasonal influenza that the initial virus and subsequent variants through Delta. Omicron is still more deadly among the very old, and those with existing conditions that make their immune systems easily overwhelmed, but the death rate from Omicron is way down, and it has eclipsed the earlier infections.
So Denmark is ending it's vaccination program for residents under 50. So **** what? If you're under 50 in Denmark and want the latest Covid-19 vaccination you can still get it. Will the government health system pay for it? The health system in Denmark pays for everything, so I'm sure it will pay for a third booster if you want one, but the Covid-19 specific vaccination program is over for those under 50.
