So...here in Illinois (we live in US House IL-6), we have a "Workers Rights" Amendment to the State of Illinois Bill of Rights" referendum on the November 8th ballot. We're for it. The Illinois Democratic Party supports it...
So the amendment would give the working people of Illinois that you conjobs say you support, the right to organize and bargain collectively. Protecting Illinois workers rights to unionize. And of course, the Illinois Republican Party along with conservatives, regardless of party affiliation or independent status, oppose it.The Amendment reads: “Employees shall have the fundamental right to organize and to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing for the purpose of negotiating wages, hours and working conditions, and to protect their economic welfare and safety and work. No law shall be passed that interferes with, negates, or diminishes the right of employees to organize and bargain collectively over their wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment and work place safety, including any law or ordinance that prohibits the execution or application of agreements between employers and labor organizations that represent employees requiring membership in an organization as a condition of employment.”
And here you are trying to pose yourself and your conservative/Republican collaborators as supporting the middle and poor working classes in their attempts to get themselves some power to negotiate fair wages and benefits that the corporate bosses work so hard to deny them.

PS - depending on the size of the sample, Chicago is the 24th most dangerous city in the country (cities over 250,000 population, and the 47th most dangerous city (cities over 100,000 population), in the country...violent crimes per 1,000 population.
