I am fascinated Jews. I was adopted and raised by Jews. Pretty neurotic Jews as a matter of fact. But as young adults they went through WWII and ended up living the rest of their lives not particularly comfortable in the knowledge of how this country abandoned so many Jews who were desperate to get out of Germany, Poland, and other countries, who tried desperately to gain visas and failed...and who ended up dead. So I knew all about their distrust of American christians, and I understood it.
So I'm fascinated about the almost universal hate for Jews. Fascinated about the envy directed at almost any successful Jew.
And of course, as a blatant supporter of the State of Israel, I catch plenty of grief from fellow progressives, the typical Israeli Apartheid, and Zionazi ****. But that's OK...I don't expect Jews to be any more popular amongst liberals than they are amongst conservatives.
I did the Ancestry thing four years ago. I turned out to be half Irish, a quarter German, and a quarter mutt western European. And after 75 years of separation, recently connected with my half brother and sister. Our Irish mother gave all three of us away, gave away all her kids, the same week in March 1946, We are probably better off for it, but the years of separation remain a loss.
