In my opinion, intelligence and the accumulation of knowledge is what mostly contributes to the decline of christianity. And christianity is in decline. Recent polls in England now find that a majority of English adults do not consider themselves to be christian. What a shame.
One more thing, let's not talk about christianity as if it is somehow better or having more truth, than any other religious practice.
