We're a democratic republic, ****. The Constitution establishes a federal democratic republic form of government. We have an indivisible union of 50 sovereign States. Its why we had a civil war, ****. The Constitution makes us an indivisible federal democracy...and why secessionists are traitors.
"Representative" in in your "representative republic" there are representatives who are voted for, and elected by the people in a democratic election. That means it's a democrstic republic.
