Wrong. No they don't. As a percentage of their earning, real income or capital gains, the top 1% don't pay anything near "plenty."
Wrong. We do have a tax problem. Taxes are too low for anybody with an income of over 250,000/year. Certainly for anybody with an income of over $400,000/year. Taxes are too high for the poor.
Correct. Spending should go for a social safety net, for healthcare, for education, and for infrastructure. Tax dollars go for the wrong things. Example...we have 11 active carrier strike groups. We have two coasts. I'll be generous and say we need three active carrier strike groups, one for each coast and one for emergencies, like one of the other two breaks down. Still more than any other country, more than any other two countries.
