The 25 richest Americans paid little to no federal income taxes, according to a report released Tuesday by the nonprofit news organization ProPublica.
Yeah, sure the $1.4 billion Bezos he paid in personal federal taxes is a huge number — yet it amounts to a 1.1% true tax rate on the $127 billion increase in his net worth. Of course that increase is all in capital gains mostly Amazon stock. Which of course he pays no ta es at all on unless and until he sells some of that stock. Of course the way the mega rich work it...the "buy, hold, and die" plan. The heirs are relieved of much of the tax burden. So much for fair share.
So the "fair share" issue being tossed around by the OP...well there are all sorts of politicized and ideological ways of looking at what is, and is not a "fair share."
