My millennial step daughter (I was there from 2-16) has never asked us for a dime. We have helped out over the years with a car and cash, paid for a couple of vacations so we could see the grandkids. She finally has learned that the "bad boy" types are lousy providers, partners and husbands.
Will she care in the end? I have no idea.

The two Gen Z grandkids and my nephew all seem to have a bright future.

she seems to have a head on her shoulders and definitely doesn't sound like a freeloader...

I never thought of asking my mother for money...we borrowed the down payment for our first house from her....it was written up with terms and going interest she was getting from savings...

 I moved in with her and stepdad after college as I was looking for a job in the metro where they lived... I was out in 6 weeks gainfully employed...even though she would have liked me to stay, I had no business there...

my 6 year elder brother was asked by the old man what he was going to do after he graduated HS if he had any plans to attend college...my brother said he was going to take a year off before deciding...the old man told him to pack up and leave....my brother started college that fall...
