the constant appeals to a document that has been basically ignored for a century is pretentious and laughable
the 14th ammendment was truly amazing ...because it clearly was not what us citizens wanted. In both the north and south the overwhelming majority wanted and expected Lincoln stated plan: to deport all the Africans. NOT to make them citizens.
Even the majority of union soldiers who fought In the civil war resented this ammendment..but they hoped they could at least keep blacks out of the north.
