I suppose you could say she couldn't be much more brilliant than Werner Heisenberg, Father of quantum physics, who also fell for the same 'trick'. On the other hand, I have noticed that people are considered stupid if they simply have a different point of view...especially if it is an uncommon point of view. Ironically if there us a truth out there you could expect that only a tiny minority of people would be able to see it...and they would be brilliant people.
