well many of the things you supported just lead naturally to what we are seeing now. For example, in the 1968 civil rights bill, anything that has 'disparate impact' on one race violates the bill. Lately we find people wanting special rights for groups of citizens. The gays want mroe rights. Gender benders what this or that. But I say all of these people already enjoy the exact same rights that we all have, courtesy of the Constition and the Bill of Rights. They are perfectly adequate. No one group should have any special privilege.
Abortion? Abortion rights? I, personally, am against abortion except for valid medical reasons but I am not about to try to force my views on others. I say everyone should have freedom of choice in this very serious area of life. The troubleis though that I do not believe our federal government should be involved. No. I agree with the reversal of Roe VS Wade simply because I believe the States should have the authority.
I have always been a moderate democrat. I believe the States should have much more authority than they presently do. The federal government should concerrn itself with our country's global, political questions and very few internal ones.
It was always going to be this way. The people in your generation just naively assumed that black people would eventually stop committing so much crime when they were properly 'educated. You didn't believe that just because white and blacks are different genetically that there could be any different in behavior. After all, cows only eat grass because they are tsught to. Women only get pregnant because they are talk to. If you simply educate people differently, then dna and the basic laws of physics all just dissapear.. so you can just decide your biological sex or your race and nobody needs to care about whatever innate nature human beings have because there is no such thing.
As far as globalism and constant wars go, that was all a logical consequence of everything that happened after ww2. After all, the primary role of the usa is to prevent another Hitler from appearing anywhere in the world. So we have to dominate the world to prevent that from ever happening. The holocaust narrative has NEVER been used to promote peace. If you do not want to go to war with putin, then you are an 'appeaser' like chamberlain.
So yeah.. I don't see why you seem surprised.. where else could all of this possibly gone?
