Japan has the highest reading level in the world, followed by Russia and China. They take reading and thinking very seriously. Europe and the Nordic countries do pretty damn good also. Canada and Australia are just as bad as us; they are useless.
This is why Kamala will win. She is just as stupid as the rest of Americans. That works to her advantage. Stupid people feed off of emotional rhetoric. Kamala speaks in generalities; it's rare that she will speak in specifics. She relies on appealing to emotion. Americans love that. No thinking is involved when emotions are a priority.
The candidates should be asked questions that people really care about. Like...who their favorite marvel superhero is. Which rapper is most likely to get smoked in 2025. Tips for baking pizza. Stuff like that.
