there are 2 things i would like to point to about the subject in general. First, there is a very old tradition of sacrificing children to gain the favor of some supernatural entity. Remember the history of moloch, for example. Or Giles de Rais. Or Agamemnon. Or the ritual sacrifice of Simeon of Trent (whoever did that)...etc. this does not necessarily imply that demons actually exist, but we could predict an epiphenomenological correlation...that is people willing to summon demons and willing to do literally anything for power (sacrifice of issac?) Are more likely to acquire power. The destruction or defining of a child seems to be the first thing that comes to a human mind as a sort of proof of allegiance. It is some sort of creepy archetype that we seem to have...it is in our blood.
Another point worth mentioning is that the scientists involved in 'denazification' following world War 2 did find (and you can confirm this with adorno's 'the authoritarian personality' among other things) that the single biggest predictor for someone being 'at risk' for becoming a nazi is if they are intelligent and had a healthy family background and were generally free from trauma that infected their thinking and psychology. So the solution to preventing the creation of another Hitler was literally to make everyone traumatized and degenerate. And no, I am not joking about this. 'Academics' in what is called 'queen theory' have been explicitly saying this sort of thing for decades, and pedophiles who managed to be in charge of foster care and been caught engaging in sexual assault have admitted in trials that they were influenced by exactly those sort of academics and felt they were somehow fighting fascism by raping children.
I would add as a corollary that it says a lot about fascism itself for academics to admit that sane untraumatized people are more likely to become fascist.
