I think we should also go a bit deeper into this question...and i am quite interested in the psyche and the psychology around GOT in relation to distinct identities.
GOT is about the middle ages. I think it should be clear that a European and a Jew will have very distinct attitudes towards that era and relate to very distinct archetypes.
it is still deeply present within the psyche of the European, and emerges unconsciously in many ways. the light saber in star wars. the warhammer in warhammer 40k...we tend to shoehorn medieval characteristics into places that on the surface they totally do not belong. It is, after all, our longest history...and it is the environment we are most adapted to. The modern age is an evolutionary mismatch for us...and perhaps we have an innate yearning that the future could be more like the past.
in contrast, you will find it difficult to find a Jew who has a similar sort of internalized romance with the medieval period...for them it was a time of persecution and oppression. It was an evolutionary mismatch for them...whereas modernity suits them better.
I think it will be difficult, therefore, for jews to create a movie about the medieval period without turning it into a sort of self-mockery. Even if subconsciously, they will sabotage the project itself...to 'punish' the people who feel an innate love of the period.
