That's also a thing, people depending on AI to do their thinking for them.. you used to be able to google stuff and form your own opinion based on that, now you get the AI "assistant" that tells you what it means.. maybe it is right, maybe it is wrong but trusting it is certainly not the best thing, it won't end well..DeezerShoove » 25 Oct 2025, 6:52 am » wrote: ↑ Perhaps.
What is concerning to me is peoples' willingness to surrender to yet another level of tech so easily.
Making movies, telling stories, entertaining, etc is one thing. But now we can completely fool people and subvert public opinion, create "evidence", affect real lives.
I don't think your average asshole even thinks about that darker side.
My favorite restaurant is a glimpse into viewpoint of folks. I am familiar to everyone there and waitresses and customers are comfortable talking to me. When I hear "I just looked it up on AI!" gleefully chirped as if we all know it's the next best thing, I cringe a bit. These are the same people to whom I can mention the Dark Web and get the blank stare, "What's that?"
