Xavier acknowledge that.
At one time it was. Not so much today. Gold is heavy, bulky and hard as heck to convert fast enough from shiny metal to 300,000 shares of AAPL. One Thousand Years ago, our ancestors were primitive and ignorant in some many ways. Going back to the "good old days" is not always a wise thing to do.
Trade has evolved over time. Therefore currencies have evolved to keep up with it. Using gold as a currency again would be like going back to computers made with glass tubes.

BRING BACK THE GOLD STANDARD
AND COMPUTERS LIKE THIS ONE
A fast computer is not going to do anyone much good in a situation where public/private partnership deals are opening up the borders, replacing the population, shutting down the electrical grid, promoting a destructive education with public schools that have been turned into hospitals, removing all manufacturing including medical supply's and lead smelting operations.
1/10 oz gold probably weighs less than USA fiat paper at the current trade rate. Non backed fiat paper tends to become worthless.
1/10 OZ gold = 74,546,292.67 Venezuelan bolivars.
