I love how liberals constantly drone on and on about how the US is not a Christian nation...then turn around and expect Christians to only vote for people who live their life in accordance to every Christian tenet. Personally, my religion and politics are separate. I hold steadfast to my beliefs and DO NOT look to any elected official as a example of how to conduct myself. I vote for candidates with whom I agree with the most. In the highly unlikely event there are two candidates that I agree with equally, I might use my beliefs as a tie breaker...but am more likely to go with the one I think has a better change against the idio...err...liberal candidate.Bruce » 09 Jul 2023, 1:01 pm » wrote: ↑ But you didn’t bring Jesus Christ into your answer.
Trump might be at a rally today where twenty thousand MAGAS are waving flags, celebrating and cheering every evil, wicked, vile, hateful thing Trump preaches from his pulpit.
But 99% or more of that crowd believes in Jesus.
If they ever once read the Sermon on the Mount in its entirety old Trump is in trouble.
MAGA argues God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. And they are right, God the Old Man did.
God the Son, gave us a New Testament
As for the OP...I disagree. I know there are a vast number who believe God controls everything and knows everything that will happen to them during their life. I do not. In my mind, that runs contrary to needing to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. I believe God gave us free will and takes the approach of, "Make your choices in life, I will be the one who holds you accountable for the consequences of those choices. However, I am always here if you need me to play a larger, or even huge, role in your life." I also believe it is never too late to make the "decision" that Jesus is the Son of God and by accepting him as your Savior you get forgiveness for your sins. Most non-Christians seem to expect Christians to be perfect. They are not perfect, just forgiven if they truly confess their sins and repent.
