White people haven't had any freedoms that they GAINED by MLKJr's death.... but, none of us are truly free if any of us are in chains, so, in that sense, MLKJr's death helped us all to STRENGTHEN OUR HOLD on our freedoms... helped us all to more securely RETAIN them, perhaps.
