The two ideas are connected even if you can't comprehend it or admit it to yourself. Most that rail against public education place the blame SOLELY (100%) on the teacher. Well, for those of us who have kids and/or have the left house since 1970... we also know that there are many factors at play in a student's performance. One of them is the parents. If parents do not care.. it is highly unlikely (data proves this) that the student will care and therefore perform highly. I do not buy into the idea that they are being brainwashed especially in the lower grades (K, 1, 2, 3, and 4). Why? Hmm... I am married to a teacher and have been since 2009. I know what she teaches. Tell me how the area of a triangle is brainwashing someone to be a liberal..
