Let's assume a retired medical doctor wants to teach high-school chemistry, physics, or biology courses. He should be allowed to teach these classes, assuming he received a certificate in 6-12 teaching/education. The 23 year old has never done anything other than go to school. So, that's right, she doesn't get a pass.
Hmmm.. so would you say that demanding this certificate is rigging the system against them? My experience is that demanding the degree/certification proves to be the deterrent. So what is your explanation as to why they largely do not enter the profession later in life? The opportunity is there and yet they choose (key word here) not to.
