My recommendation would be to mandate that at some point in time during high school or shortly thereafter.. every student work/live in a rural setting. A ranch, a farm, restaurant, or something doing with agriculture. The idea that being exposed to this would give them a far more down to earth and practical view of the world instead of just watching youtube videos and random stuff on facebook. Additionally, possibly they would figure out that folks that live in Challis, ID are not inferior to those that live in San Francisco, CA.
